The effect of retirement preparation of retired pastors on successful life

Abstract

|
The purpose of the study was to examine the relationship between retirement preparation and successful senior life of retired pastors. The results of the study are summed up as follows. First, the level of successful senior life was shown to be favorable with an overall mean 2.97, a little higher than 2.5 which is a median on the scale of 4. Second, retirement preparation was found to be average with a mean of 2.49. Third, the study compared the means of the level of successful senior life and retirement preparation depending on ages, economic activities, characteristics of residing areas, retirement types, and the congregation power of the church they retire from. In economic activities, the preparation level was higher in retired pastors who engaged in economic activities in terms of the total score of retirement preparation and sub-dimensions of retirement preparation than those who aren`t.
